Starting as early at the age of five, the charms of
historic audio recordings and vastly unknown formats has
always fascinated me. For 19 years now I have
specialized in phonograph cylinder records and their
huge variety.
As a skilled technician and studied business lawyer I
am working in the branch of medical technology and
business consulting. The esthetic appearance of
long-gone technology and the possibilites of today's
digital audio restoration and preservation with a scientific
focus of our cultural heritage have become a true
passion. In association with fellow collection we have
developed a versatile and modern playback system for
cylinder records.
The perennial experience in recording live performances
of classical music and jazz have created a safe basis
for my work with historic recordings.
Especially pre-1900 and late 1920s recordings are in my
focus. I furthermore produce radio programs at irregular
intervals and contribute as a technical adviser for cine
film productions.
Other related projects of mine are the digitization
service GeneralTransfer
and Germany's currently only label for cylinder
records, Phono
Works Germany.
